DNA Studies point towards how Polynesia was Settled

Recent studies suggest that Polynesians settled Rapa Nui from migrants traveling from the west. Starting in Samoa, they reached the Cook Islands around 830, then continued east to the Tuamotus and finally Rapa Nui (Easter Island) by the mid-1100s.
